Все еще более отменяется. Кафе, которое в Саду Баумана, которое нам разрешило крутить кино и музыку, теперь тоже испугалось, и нас больше не хочет видеть. Оно же в Саду Баумана. МЫ БУДЕМ ПОКАЗЫВАТЬ КИНО В НАШЕЙ СТУДИИ7 В ХОХЛОВСКОМ ПЕРЕУЛКЕ, при этом в Саду Баумана мы начнем в 8 у сцены, а потом прогуляемся на Китай-город, чтобы где-то в 9 показать кино в студии. После кино можно остаться обсуждать наши невероятные приключения  и танцевать. Для тех, кому не хочется гулять или неудобно стартовать из парка, студия будет открыта как минимум с 8.30., будет музыка, традиционные напитки, все как в старые добрые времена…

Все отменяется. Но… Дорогие друзья, мы с вами придумали такой замечательный Бал в последний вечер лета, которому, к сожалению, не удастся осуществиться, по крайней мере, так, как мы его представляли.

Сейчас заканчивается вторник, и вот только недавно мы узнали, что по загадочным «техническим причинам» все кинопоказы в Саду имени Баумана отменяются. Администрация этого места нас не любит. Для них люди, человеческие лица – какая-то очевидная помеха в тех делах, которые они делают. Для них все, что мы делаем, – подозрительно: все эти «тусовки», бесплатный чай и яблоки, виниловые пластинки, настоящее кино, совсем разные люди, которые почему-то уживаются друг с другом…

Мы немножко рады, что то, что мы делаем запрещают, мы рады, что не можем сговориться с людьми, которые всем там рулят. Тем не менее больше мы не можем приглашать вас на кинопоказы в Саду имени Баумана, может быть только в этот последний раз…

Итак, фильма на эстраде на кинопленке не будет. Не будет самовара и так далее. Мы торжественно отмечаем отмену кинопоказов в летнем кафе, расположенном прямо за эстрадой, за экраном Сада имени Баумана. Мы стараемся организовать там показ фильма Этторио Скола «Бал», мы постараемся крутить там пластинки с хорошей музыкой, в кафе будут продавать недорогой квас, пиво и вино. Мы просим всех нарядиться, но не для бала (хотя мы постараемся устроить танцы), а просто потому что нельзя отменять такие вещи, нельзя, чтобы нами так просто кто-то руководил, мы сами по себе.

Everything’s been cancelled. However…
Dear friends, we, together with you, planned to hold our wonderful Ball on the last evening of summer; unfortunately, however, said Ball won’t be taking place, or at least not as we imagined it. Tuesday has already come to an end, and here we just found out not long ago that all film showings in Bauman Park have been cancelled for some, mysterious “technical reasons.” This administration there doesn’t like us. It would seem that, for them, people and human faces are some sort of blatant interference in their activities. For them, everything that we do is suspicious: all these gatherings, free tea and apples, plastic cups, real film and the completely varied people that, for some reason, value one another…
We’re a little glad that something we’re doing is being banned; we’re glad that we can’t come to some agreement with the people that rule over the park. Nevertheless, we won’t be inviting you to any more film showings in Bauman Park; maybe just this one last time…
And so, there will be no film shown on the stage with real film reels. There will be no samovar and related such things. We will solemnly mark the cancellation of our film showings in the summer café located right behind the stage, behind the screen in Bauman Park. We’ll try to organize a showing there of Ettore Skola’s film The Bll and we’ll try to play some records with good music. The café will be selling inexpensive kvass, beer and wine. We ask everyone to dress up, but not for a ball (though we’ll try to get some dancing going), but rather simply because such things should never just be cancelled and we should never allow ourselves to simply be bossed around. We are our own people and we do as we please.

Бал! Кино, музыка и танцы в Саду имени Баумана в последний вечер лета! Мы приглашаем всех на бал в парке и просим нарядиться. Мы откладываем до следующей среды наш важнейший цикл показов фильмов советских республик, для нас безусловно этот цикл – главное дело, но лето заканчивается, и нам кажется хорошей идеей, раз уж 31 августа – среда, устроить небольшой праздник по этому поводу. Сначала мы покажем кино-бал, потом мы будем крутить музыку и можно будет танцевать под звездным небом последней августовской ночи.

Друзья, во-первых, несмотря на бал, если в среду будет дождь, то будет дождь. Мы не принимаем никаких мер, чтобы это остановить. Как показал наш первый вечер в парке, кино можно смотреть под зонтиком или в дождевиках, а танцы под дождем – это вообще то, о чем многие в тайне мечтают…

Все-таки будем надеяться, что дождя не будет, потому что мы правда просим всех нарядиться. Не в маскарадный костюм, хотя приветствуется и это, а в красивую, праздничную, неповседневную одежду. Танцевать конечно не обязательно, все это несерьезно, но мы мечтаем, чтобы после кино многие попробовали бы танцевать, готовьте заранее партнеров (!), фильм будет располагать к танцам.

Учитывая то, что к нам часто приходят активисты и участники движения Couch Surfing, настоящие путешественники и любители приключений из разных стран, нам представляется, что этот бал 31 августа в Москве отчасти посвящен именно им – мы много об этом фантазировали еще зимой. Путешественникам трудно раздобыть фрак или платье, поэтому мы особенно оценим героизм «каучсерферов» одеться не в их классическую униформу – с рюкзаком, в майке и походных вещах, а придти на бал нарядными и необычайными. Ребята, мы вас любим!

Мы начнем немного раньше – в восемь вечера, потому что парк закрывается в полночь, а уже после одиннадцати нам придется тушить музыку и свечи, поэтому танцы не будут происходить до утра, это будет довольно короткое мгновение, как, наверное, многое хорошее в нашей жизни.

Вспоминая все то, что мы делали или пытались сделать – очевидно одно: у нас еще не было бала. Конечно мы сильно волнуемся на счет погоды, волнуемся, будут ли у нас танцоры, нарядные люди, не загорится ли кинопленка и т.д. Но очень важно одно: у киносреды нет организаторов, то, что вы принесете с собой – настроение, веселье, атмосферу, что-то к чаю, или просто ваше доброжелательное присутствие, вы сами на лавочке или на танцплощадке в парке – это и станет тем событием, которое произойдет. Больше почти ничего.

«Бал» Этторе Скола – один из самых необычных фильмов за всю историю кино. Картина снята по мюзиклу Жан-Клода Паншена, поставленному в «Театре дю Кампаньоль». Более того, режиссёр перенёс экспериментальный спектакль на экран, не меняя актеров. В «Бале» нет ни одной реплики (смешно: номинация на «Оскар» 1984 года – лучший фильм на ИНОСТРАННОМ ЯЗЫКЕ) – только танец, мимика и жесты. Смена эпох с 30-х до 80-х годов показана средствами театральной пластики и с помощью музыкального сопровождения, знакового для той или иной картинки жизни.

Роскошно сыгранные, узнаваемые типажи еще больше радуют тех, кто знаком с новейшей историей Франции, в том числе, с ее кинематографом – в пластике исполнителей просматриваются образы, созданные, например, Габеном и, кажется, Маре (есть и цитаты из итальянки Анны Маньяни). Наглядно передаются особенности исторического момента, его настроение.
«Бал» – реальная нетленка, редкий случай. Смотреть и пересматривать обязательно.

Ball! Cinema, music and dancing in Bauman Park on the last evening of the summer! You are all invited to a ball in the park (please note that this is a black tie event). We’re going to put off for a week our ever-so-important cycle of films from the post-Soviet republics; this cycle is, in our opinion, unarguably important business, but summer is ending, and as such we feel like it would probably be a better idea to set up a little celebration to mark the event this Wednesday, on precisely the 31st of August. First, we’ll show a cinematic ball, and then we’ll get the music rolling so that we can dance away the last August night under a starry sky.
Dear friends, first of all, despite the ball, if there’s rain on Wednesday, there will indeed be rain; we’re not going to take any sort of measures to stop it. As demonstrated by our first evening in the park, films can be watched from under umbrellas and inside of rain ponchos and dancing in the rain is, in truth, what many people secretly dream about…

We’re going to hope, all the same, that there won’t be rain, because we’re asking everyone to get dressed up, and not in costumes, as if for a masquerade (though this is welcome as well), but in the beautiful, celebratory clothes that you keep put aside for special occasions. Of course, nobody is required to dance, this is all just for fun, but we have a dream, that after the film many people would at least try to dance; so find yourself a partner ahead of time(!): this movie’s going to put you in a dancing sort of mood.

Taking into consideration the fact that active participants in the Couch Surfing movement: real travelers and adventure-lovers from various countries, often come to our events, we feel that this, our Moscow ball on August 31, ought to be dedicated to precisely these people; we fantasized about this quite a bit this past winter. It’s difficult for travelers to get hold of a fancy coat or a dress, and as such we’ll particularly value the heroism of those “couchsurfers” that come dressed not in their classical uniform of a backpack, a t-shirt and travelling gear, but rather all spiffed and gussied up: we love you guys!

We’ll be starting a little earlier, at eight o’clock in the evening, since the park closes at midnight, and as early as eleven we’ll have to put out the music and candles. Because of this, the dancing isn’t going to go on until morning; this will be a fairly short instant, as are, most likely, many of the great moments in our lives.

In thinking back on all that we’ve done or attempted to do, one thing is quite obvious: we’ve never had a ball. Of course we’re incredibly concerned with regards to the weather, we worry about whether or not we’ll have dancers and beautifully dressed people, we fear that the film reels might go up in flames, etc. But one thing is very important: Kinosreda has no organizers; this means that whatever you bring with you, whether it be an attitude, merriment, the atmosphere, something to have with your tea, or just your dearly beloved presence, in other words, that which you bring from the store or to the dance floor, is what’s going to make or break this event, no more, no less.

Ettore Scola’s “The Ball” is one of the most unusual films in all the history of cinema. The setting was taken from Jean-Claude Penchenat’s musical and placed in the Theatre du Campagnoli. Furthermore, the director transferred this experimental production to the screen without changing actors. In The Ball there’s not one line (a funny fact: it was nominated at the 1984 Oscars for best FOREIGN LANGUAGE film): just dancing, gestures and body language. Progression through the epochs from the 30s to the 80s is shown through movements and with the help of the musical accompaniment, which is symbolic for this or that image of life.
The splendidly acted, recognizable characters will be even more enjoyable for those who are familiar with the modern history of France, including its cinematography: in the actors’ movement can be seen images created, for example, by Gabin and, it would seem, Marais (there are also quotations from the Italian Anna Magnani). The particularities and mood of the historical moment are visually conveyed.
The Ball is a true masterpiece; a rare happening. It’s one you simply have to watch again and again.
